Burnett Attorneys & Notaries is a boutique law firm
Mandatory Mediation
We have accredited mediators at Burnett Attorneys that can mediate all civil law disputes. If the mediation is unsuccessful, for whatever reason, we can provide you with a Certificate of Non-Resolution that would enable you to obtain a trial date.
Despite the mandatory nature of compulsory mediation, the process remains private and confidential process and takes place within the framework of the law. In the mediation process each party will be given the opportunity to explain what the issues are. Once all relevant information has been collected and disclosed openly and honestly, interest-based negotiations – as opposed to positional bargaining – are facilitated between the parties.
Why Mediation
Mediation has many advantages
It has proved to be cost and time effective, to deal creatively with the widely differing interests of the parties because of its flexibility and informality, and to improve communication between parties, preserve their relationship with each other, and strengthen their problem-solving abilities. In addition, mediation has high success and satisfaction rates because it relies on participant-driven resolution.
